Chairman's Report 2019
There have been several important events during the past year, the main ones being the resurfacing of Main Street and Bell Lane with the associated improvements to the pathways alongside Main Street. These works have been largely achieved by continual lobbying and persuasion by the Parish Council and our County Councillor Bruce Laughton, thank you Bruce.
The Council has been granted funds to purchase two new signs to be erected close to the village entrances. These are our own designs with a rural scene showing the view including the church and are in the latter stages of manufacture.
In January, Councillor Ruth Allarton resigned due to taking a new job in Cornwall. Her position was filled by co-opting Colin Laughton. In May the local elections resulted in Councillor Sylvia Michael being re-elected as our District Councillor. Also, the seats on the Parish Council were up for election. Two of our previous councillors did not stand and I would like to thank Phil Nice and Tim Webster for the service and help. Harvey Saddington was elected to fill one seat leaving us to co-opt for the other and Richard Henderson joined the Council in June.
